Thanks to all athletes of our Phase 2 cohort, an extremely deep group of talented hockey players and fine young men.  The list below is the Top 20 List with alternates.  We believe our alternates will be selected to other districts and play in the festival.  These players often shine for the other district and have made the state camp.   We will look to add another alternate(s).  We reserve the right to fix a listing error.

Welcome to the District 2 Spring HP Boys 15U Page (This is also the Home of Loons, our Fall Tier 1 & Prospects Team Name: in the Spring each Minnesota Hockey District uses their individual denoted District # for their team as opposed to some smaller Districts combining in fall thus the Fall Tier 1 names - for us - The Loons = District 2 in the fall for HP14's & HP15's) ).  To be eligible for the 2022 Spring District 2 CCM High Performance Program you must have been born in 2007 (no play up eligibility) and have a permanent residence within District 2 based on Association boundaries.  If an athlete attends a private school or plays outside their respective Association, even outstate or out-of-state, for Spring HP and Fall Tier 1 & Prospects, they must tryout through their Home district.  Head Coaches please contact the team General Manager with nominations (including Junior Hockey and High School winter coaches). Our tryouts will abide by the prevailing COVID-19 protocols for number of participants and arena procedures.

The purpose of the CCM High Performance Program is to identify, train, educate and evaluate Minnesota's best hockey players. The competition throughout the program gives each player the opportunity to measure themselves against others in his age group, gain knowledge about his development and to be exposed to outstanding coaching.

TRYOUTS/TRIALS

ARRIVE 30 MINUTES EARLY TO GET TRIALS' VEST. 

District Trials are via Coach Nomination for MN District 2 players competing at a high level for their Association team.  Usually AA or A players with a potential of a B1 player (if no AA/A top team) depending on your Association structure.    

2022 Spring Boys 15U Tryout Dates 

March 22, 2022 7:10 - 8:30 PM,  Super Rink 8

March 23, 2022 8:30 - 9:40 PM,  Super Rink 6 (*Added)

Note: Phase 1 ($100): District Trials/Top 30 Selections, March 21 - 27, 2022.  Link from MN Hockey will be available in February 2022 (as we select the tryout cohort from nominations and will be emailed from the General Manager to nominated players guardian).   Once we select the Top 30 we enter Phase 2: District Top 30 Skills Sessions, March 28 – April 22, 2022 (which has a fee of $150).  We then select a District Top 20 from Phase 2 to play in the Phase 3 ($200): Minnesota Hockey Spring Festival (Duluth), April 29 - May 1, 2022.   Minnesota Hockey staff evaluate all teams and players during the Spring Festival where they select the Top 102 players to train at the State Camp for Phase 4 ($650): Minnesota Hockey 14 Development Camp (St. Cloud), June 19 – June 24, 2022.   Phase 5: USA Hockey National Boys Select 15 Development Camp, July, 2022 - Amherst, NY.  Players for the State Development Camp are selected to participate in the USHL Fall Showcase for the Minnesota State Team finalized with review during the early stages of player performance in the Fall Tier 1 League.  (In 2021 District 2 Loons had 5 players selected to the 14U and 2 were selected to the 15U playing at PPG Paints Arena at Pittsburgh, PA.)
